Protecting Children, One Case at a Time: The EquiAccess Referral Tracker Launches

Starlight Foundation is happy to share that we’re nearing the end of the EquiAccess pilot phase, and moving into the next stage: setting up EquiAccess Champions Clubs across six schools and two communities in Nima and Mamobi.

Each club will have trained patrons and peer advocates, clear meeting routines and solid safeguarding rules in place. We’re also introducing the Referral Tracker as our standard case management tool. This will help clarify escalation routes, protect confidentiality and connect children to CHRAJ, DOVVSU, Legal Aid and other appropriate services.

One thing we’re particularly proud of: our fully built, automated and anonymous Referral Tracker is ready to launch from September 2026. It includes a management dashboard, a master case tracker and a confidential status portal. Every case is given a unique code, so a child or reporter can follow their case right through to resolution, without their identity being revealed in routine dashboards or team discussions.

We want to say a big thank you to our partner, Consortium for Street Children, for funding this project and for continuing to stand with us. Your support has made all of this possible.

We’re not stopping here. Our goal is to see EquiAccess grow into all 16 regions of Ghana, and we’d love for other organisations and agencies who share our vision to come on board. If your objectives align with ours, we’d welcome the chance to work together and grow this impact even further.

This is what impact means to us. Not just talking about what needs to change, but actually rolling up our sleeves and building the solution ourselves.
